作品展示回收朽木的不同狀態，並轉化為鼓勵互動的裝置。提倡透過聲音與他人聯結，鼓勵人去聽及回應，共享因木而生的感觀空間。
作品由本地木製成的聲音盒為整個裝置的單元組件。組件如張開口的木頭，呈「日」狀，不同大小的裂口實驗木材及音箱共鳴的特性，當敲打時會發出高高低低「哆」的聲音。藝術家透過運算式設計創作出一個可讓公眾按喜好把組件組合的互動平台，可以在當中遊走敲擊。作品又彷似一種把空間切割的圖譜， 一首即興演譯的樂曲。日曰，代表大自然變化莫測的聲音。

The work shows the different states of recycled wood, and transforms them into an instrument for interactive participation. The installation encourages participants to listen, respond, and connect with others through sound, so as to share this sensual wooden space together.
The sound box made of local wood is the voxel of the installation. Each voxel looks like a piece of “mouth-wide-open” timber, taking the shape of the Chinese character “日”. The opening of different sizes on the timber experiments with the characteristics of the material and resonating effect, giving the “dong” sound of various pitches when it is hit. The artist creates an interactive platform that allows the public to assemble voxels according to their interest through computational design. Participants can then wander around and perform percussion. The work is like a map made of divided space, or a piece of impromptu music.“日 and 曰” allows us to hear the unpredictable sound of the nature.
