《不安練習社》是一個由一群人聚集討論而誕生的創作。不安在這裡指的是不確定的狀態。在聚集中,嚴氏設計了一系列情境,讓參加者透過討論、聲音和身體的表達方法來研究對周遭不穩定事物的想像。練習有預演的意思,也是觀察的方法。我們可以如何演練「不確定」來準備未來的自己,並化解情緒,與他人建立共存的方式?

《不安練習社一:詩歌》 這是一個以工作坊形式進行的活動,透過公開招募,與14名參加者在一個偏僻的地方共處,背景參考了80年代歷史檔案中未實行的「把全港市民遷島移民」方案。工作坊包括兩節練習和一節展演。

練習在荔枝窩這個客家農村進行。自80年代起,大批村民移民,村莊幾乎荒廢,而近年復村,情境與檔案描述的相似。嚴氏設計了基於聲音、記憶和身體動作的活動,讓參加者交換我們常思考的一堆不確定的未來和狀態,包括面對社會政治氣氛、移民和出走的想法。邀請參加者藉由不安的情緒汲取創作的動力,從而把不安轉化成想像、行動力甚至反抗力。

在最後一節中,我們將這些體會透過共同繪製和翻譯不安的音譜(sound score),編唱並展演一首代表這暫時共同體的「詩歌」作結。

Assembly of Disquiet was a creation born from a group gathering. Here, disquiet refers to a state of uncertainty. In the gatherings, Yan designed a series of scenarios, allowing participants to explore their imaginations of unstable surroundings through discussion, sound, and body expressions. Practice implies rehearsal and is also a method of observation. How can we practice “uncertainty” to prepare our future selves, resolve emotions, and establish a way of coexistence with others?

 

Assembly of Disquiet: The Hymn is an activity conducted in the form of a workshop. Through open recruitment, 14 participants gathered in a remote location, with the background referencing an unimplemented 1980s historical archive proposal to relocate all Hong Kong citizens to an island. The workshop included two practice sessions and one performance session.

 

The practice took place in Lai Chi Wo, a Hakka farming village. Since the 1980s, a large number of villagers emigrated, leaving the village almost deserted, but it has been revitalized in recent years, resembling the scenario described in the archives. Yim designed activities based on sound, memory, and body movements, allowing participants to exchange thoughts on various uncertain futures and states, including the social and political atmosphere, immigration, and the idea of escape. Participants were invited to draw creative energy from their anxiety, transforming it into imagination, action, and even resistance.

 

In the final session, we concluded by collectively creating and interpreting a sound score of disquiet, composing and performing a “hymn” that represents this temporary community.
